See the Sonata ‘Uncensored’ on Facebook!

Everyone knows someone who’s “over Facebook” yet still continues to read it obsessively.  So even though Facebook is now experiencing the inevitable backlash all uber-popular entities must endure, it’s also an addictive pleasure that no one’s quite ready to give up on.  Companies like Hyundai know this.  So rather than commit resources only to other traditional marketing outlets, dealerships in Bloomington, IL are flinging an all-encompassing net over Facebook for the  2011 Hyundai Sonata. 

Coming to Facebook as part of Hyundai’s “Uncensored” marketing campaign, 50 consumers who have been picked to test drive the 2011 Sonata will offer up their unscripted, unfiltered comments.  The exact details of the commenting process are not yet known, but one can only hope that Hyundai does at least *some* filtering and editing so the feedback doesn’t consist of “wckd radddd,” “cka,” and “!!!!!!!! J”.

Those picked will also be given an HD Flip Cam in hopes they will document their experiences online in one of those photo essays things with the dry and/or hilarious captions.  In addition, the test drivers will receive a $250 gas card (the 2011 Sonata’s fuel economy is a solid 22/35 so that $250 should go a long way) and $500 spending cash.  It’s good to be on Facebook, huh?  The non-Facebookers? Maybe if you’re lucky Hyundai will let you go around the block in a used Hyundai Genesis Coupe. Bloomington and other towns in the Midwest and all over the country should be on the lookout for these test drivers through September (not the drivers of the used Hyundai Genesis Coupe, Bloomington, that was a joke!).

They will be recognizable by the sleek, modern body of the 2011 model and the sound of its 198 horsepower Theta II 2.4-liter gasoline direct injection engine zipping by.  The 2011 Sonata also comes standard with XM Satellite radio, Bluetooth hands-free phone system, and heated rear and front seats.  Those dealerships in Bloomington, IL, probably aren’t going to have to work too hard to move the 2011 Sonata. It practically sells itself!
